I finally saw the Da Vinci Code. I remember reading the book and being a little disappointed at the end. I also remember all the hype and controversy that surrounded the book. When the movie came out everyone said that it was great. The casting was pretty good, at least I thought so because as I read the book I imagined Jean Reno as Captain Bezu Fache. The girl also looked something like Audrey Tautou in my head. Although Langdon didn’t remind me of Tom Hanks. The book was a good read. Apart from the fact or fiction controversy, it was very entertaining. The movie on the other hand was too fast paced and I didn’t like it very much. Like most books that become films, this too was an utter disappointment. Perhaps if I hadn’t read the book I would have felt different. But I did read the book and while I watched the film, I noticed that key features that made up the story were left out. I would rather read the book on anything than watch the movie that’s made about it. I believe the Lord of The Rings trilogy to be the only creation where the aspects of the book are somewhat retained. But then it takes nine hours to complete watching the film.
